Born in Belgium and raised in Portugal, Mendo de Dornellas is a photographer and film director driven by a deep connection to the ocean, travel, and human stories. Surfing first sparked his curiosity for the world and eventually led him to pick up a camera — a tool that quickly became his way of observing and connecting with people and places.

Over the years, Mendo has worked with international brands such as Nike, Mercedes-Benz, Adidas, HBO, Calzedonia, and Netflix, creating campaigns, films, and imagery across different parts of the world. His work is recognised for its natural and cinematic feel, often focusing on authenticity, emotion, and the beauty found in real moments.

Travel continues to play a big role in his creative process. Whether working on commercial projects or personal stories, Mendo is constantly inspired by the cultures, landscapes, and people he encounters along the way.

Now based in Lisbon, Portugal, he continues to work internationally, combining photography and film to create honest and visually striking stories.
